Istanbul – Half-Day City Tour

Morning: After breakfast at the hotel, begin your half-day guided tour to discover the most iconic landmarks and monuments of Istanbul.

🕰️ First, visit the historic Hippodrome of Constantinople, the center of Byzantine social and political life. Here, you'll see monuments such as the Obelisk of Theodosius, brought from Egypt in the 4th century as a symbol of imperial power.

⛪ Continue to the magnificent Hagia Sophia Mosque, a breathtaking masterpiece that served both as a Greek Orthodox cathedral and an imperial mosque for centuries.

🕌 The tour ends at Istanbul’s most iconic site: the Blue Mosque (Sultan Ahmed Mosque), built in the 17th century and famous for its stunning blue hand-painted tiles.

Afternoon: Free time at your leisure. You may choose to visit the Topkapi Palace (optional), the former residence of the Ottoman sultans. Explore its rich history, impressive architecture, and treasured artifacts.

Morning: After breakfast at the hotel, begin the day with a visit to the Spice Bazaar, one of Istanbul’s most vibrant and historic markets. Enjoy the colorful atmosphere and exotic aromas of Turkish spices and delights.

Then, embark on a scenic Bosphorus Cruise between two continents — Europe and Asia. Admire the city’s magnificent waterfront architecture, including Dolmabahce Palace, Beylerbeyi Palace, and charming Ottoman mansions lining the shore.

Between 16:00 – 18:00: Our team will pick you up from your hotel lobby and transfer you to the airport for your evening flight to Kayseri.

Upon arrival at Kayseri Airport, our team will greet you at the domestic terminal exit and provide a comfortable transfer to your hotel in Cappadocia (approx. 1 hour). Check-in and rest for the night.

📸 Göreme Panorama: Start the day with a breathtaking panoramic view of Göreme, where cave dwellings carved into the rocks paint a magical picture of the region.

⛪ Göreme Open-Air Museum: Visit the first and largest monastery complex in the region, where early Christian education began. Explore rock-carved churches, chapels, and monasteries dating back to the 10th–13th centuries. This site was home to influential figures such as St. Basil the Great, St. Gregory of Nyssa, and St. George of Nazianzus.

🌄 Paşabağ (Monks Valley): Admire the most striking fairy chimneys, known for their multiple caps and thick stems. Visit the chapel dedicated to St. Simeon, built into one of the iconic three-headed fairy chimneys.

🪨 Devrent Valley: Also known as Imagination Valley, this area is filled with surreal rock formations resembling animals and objects. Formed over centuries by erosion, the landscape offers a dreamlike walking experience.

🏰 Uçhisar Castle: The highest point in Cappadocia, once used for defense and observation. Climb for an unforgettable panoramic view of the surrounding valleys and villages.

🐦 Pigeon Valley: Enjoy a photo stop overlooking the valley famous for its ancient pigeon houses carved into the cliffs — once used to collect guano for vineyards.

🏺 Avanos Pottery Workshop: Visit the pottery town of Avanos, where red clay from the Kızılırmak River is still used by local artisans. Try your hand at traditional pottery-making techniques that date back to the Hittite period.

Afternoon: Around 16:00–17:00, transfer back to your hotel in Cappadocia. The rest of the day is free at leisure.

🌄 Göreme Panorama: Start your day with a spectacular panoramic view over Cappadocia’s iconic fairy chimneys and volcanic terrain.

⛏️ Kaymaklı or Derinkuyu Underground City: Discover one of Cappadocia’s most impressive underground cities, used by early Christians to hide from Roman persecution. Walk through tunnels, kitchens, churches, and air shafts carved deep into the ground.

🌿 Ihlara Valley: Enjoy a peaceful 3–4 km hike through this lush canyon carved by the Melendiz River, home to dozens of Byzantine-era cave churches and rock-cut dwellings.

⛪ Selime Monastery: Visit one of the largest rock-cut religious complexes in the region. Once a center for monastic life and education, it features cathedral-sized chambers and stunning views over the valley.

🍽️ Lunch Break: Enjoy a delicious traditional lunch at a riverside restaurant in Belisırma Village.

🐦 Pigeon Valley Viewpoint: Conclude your tour with a short photo stop at the panoramic viewpoint overlooking thousands of dovecotes carved into the cliffs—once used to collect fertilizer for vineyards.

Afternoon: According to your flight time, you will be transferred to the Cappadocia airport. After your domestic flight to Istanbul, our team will assist you with your international connection for your return flight home.
